Many different systems and tools are combined to create the peace-of-mind Idenxt delivers. Here’s a summary of those component services and how they work together.
Your software loading paradigm has shifted some over the years.
In earlier days, you’d insert a floppy disk into a disk drive and run a command to load the software that was on it into your computer’s hard drive. That floppy disk kept getting smaller, from 8” to 5 ¼” and finally to 3 ½”.
Then we shifted to shiny, higher-capacity DVDs. We’d put the platter onto the shelf, push it in and, again, run a command to load the software.
Then, software loading changed. We now went to a website and clicked a link that invited us to load our software onto our hard drive. No more media to store or handle.
During each of these advances we still enjoyed a very simple, straightforward process that we had pretty good control over. As software became more sophisticated, we needed to do more configuration, but it was all pretty accessible. Once loaded, there’s usually little difficulty in keeping those applications running.
Then Came the Azure Cloud
The Azure platform is completely different from running applications locally.
Today, Azure offers more than 200 services organized into 18 categories. Even as you’re reading this those numbers continue to increase, along with the complexity involved in accessing them. These services are designed to help users build, run, and manage applications across multiple clouds, on-premises, and at the network edge.
Installing applications and workloads into Azure requires an all-new paradigm shift, a shift so profound that the development team at Idenxt saw the need to build a service to help users navigate the transition.
Idenxt Deployment
The first value Idenxt brings to Azure users is the loading, configuration, and deployment of their workloads. This includes specification of the required virtual machines, provisioning of all the required services, installation of applications, and migration of data. This is a substantial undertaking that many have attempted on their own with less-than-satisfactory results. Idenxt consults with the customer’s management team to determine all specifications required for proper and efficient implementation.
SleepWell SLA
When your business depends upon the continued operation of software, that software occupies your mind full-time. It becomes a primary worry.
Some companies employ specialized personnel to keep a watchful eye over all computer operations at all times, but many cannot justify the payroll and related expenses involved.
Idenxt Services
- Idenxt provides constant proactive monitoring of your entire Azure environment. Any incident that arises gets immediate response and is managed to complete resolution. Customers usually only see these in regular reporting as they caused no disruption of function.
- Similarly, Idenxt constantly seeks security weaknesses and detects potential breaches as they are occurring. These breaches are also handled by Idenxt incident management.
- Even the applications the customer is running may cause failures, anomalies, or other issues, including those designed and developed by the customer. Idenxt works directly with the customer’s developers and other management to detect, evaluate, and resolve these incidents as well.
- Studies have shown us that a growing proportion of incidents are being caused by simple misconfiguration of devices and services. These may be caused by user error, or purposeful mischief by customer staff. Idenxt identifies these errors and expedites resolution and remediation.
- Since it is critical to evaluate and install all patches and updates in a timely fashion, Idenxt manages this for customers according to Microsoft guidelines.
- Idenxt keeps each customer ready at all times to recover from catastrophic failures of any component of their Azure network. The measures required to assure prompt and proper restoration and business continuity are tested regularly to assure reliability.
All of this means managers can sleep well at night knowing their Azure environment is safe, sound, and fully protected. This is why our most important service level agreement (SLA) is our SleepWell SLA.
